| Research Interests and Current Projects |
My primary interest is in understanding the human impact on the Earth's surface, and the consequences of these actions on the environment. More specifically I wish to understand anthropogenic impacts on climate, and how climate change affects the environment and society. My current research primarily aims to simulate human impacts on the Earth's surface in large-scale climate models. I am collaborating with researchers at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) to develop an urban model in NCAR's Community Land Model. I am also building the accompanying datasets to drive these models using satellite data, historical information on human agriculture, grazing and soil degradation, and data from future scenarios from the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). More information on Dr. Feddema's research projects is available here. |
